FBI agents have conducted searches at the residences and office of John Bolton, the former national security adviser to Donald Trump, in connection with an ongoing investigation focused on the alleged mishandling of classified information. A prominent figure in the Republican Party and a known critic of Trump, Bolton's departure from the administration in 2019 marked the beginning of his outspoken critiques, particularly noted in his 2020 memoir, "The Room Where it Happened," where he characterized Trump as unfit for office.

While the FBI has remained tight-lipped regarding the specific nature of their investigation, insiders indicated that classified documents are at the center of the inquiry.
