Russia's Strategic Capture of Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk

Russian troops have once again made headway in their ongoing campaign in eastern Ukraine, announcing the capture of the previously Ukrainian-held town of Velyka Novosilka, which military analysts interpret as a part of a larger strategy aimed at controlling the entire Donetsk region. Reports and satellite imagery confirmed the town's new status under Russian control, while the Ukrainian military conceded the loss of most of the area but claims to retain a presence on its northern outskirts.
