Autopsy Reveals No Trauma in French Streamer Raphaël Graven's Death

An autopsy into the death of French streamer Raphaël Graven, who was known online as Jean Pormanove, has concluded that trauma was not the cause of death, according to the prosecutor in charge of the case. Graven was found dead at his residence in Contes, a village located north of Nice, on a Monday morning. Government officials, including French minister Clara Chappaz, have described the situation as an "absolute horror," prompting a judicial investigation into the circumstances of his death.

Prosecutor Damien Martinelli reported that medical examiners revealed Graven's death was "not traumatic in origin" and did not involve any third-party intervention. Forensic doctors found no signs of significant internal or external injuries—only some bruises and healed lesions. Martinelli indicated that the probable causes were medical or toxicological, leading to further tests. Reports suggest Graven may have had underlying heart issues, alongside ongoing treatment for a thyroid condition.

A spokesperson for Kick, the platform Graven used for his streams, emphasized that they are "urgently reviewing" the situation surrounding his death. Local media has indicated that the 46-year-old streamer had previously encountered episodes of violence and experienced sleep deprivation during his live broadcasts, ultimately passing away in his sleep while streaming. As investigations unfold, investigators have interviewed several individuals present at the time of the incident and have seized equipment and video records to ascertain the events leading up to Graven's death and any contributing factors.
