In Hong Kong’s northern New Territories, the formerly grand Lung Wah Hotel, once a cherished locale in the 1950s and 1960s, has begun a new chapter as a museum, seeking to honor the city's vibrant past amid its evolving identity. The hotel, a converted Spanish revival villa, originally provided a tranquil retreat filled with lush gardens and spaces where locals celebrated leisurely weekends. It garnered fame for housing Bruce Lee, who practiced martial arts on its rooftop, encapsulating a nostalgic era that now carries profound cultural significance.

After decades of decline when it ceased room rentals due to modern regulations and witnessed substantial development of its surrounding landscape, the Lung Wah Hotel faced an uncertain future. However, it has found a revival in its recent reinvention as “Hong Kong Radiance.” This hands-on museum aims to capture the city’s transformation from a postwar industrial hub into a modern financial nexus bridging East and West.
