Train Derailment in Denmark Leaves One Dead and Multiple Injured

In a harrowing incident in southern Denmark, a train collided with a slurry tanker and derailed, resulting in at least one fatality and several injuries. The crash took place between the towns of Tinglev and Kliplev, with emergency services quickly deployed to the scene.

Local media outlet TV2 reported that helicopters were dispatched to assist in the emergency response. The collision occurred as the train was passing through a railway crossing, according to officials from the national rail agency Banedanmark. Eyewitness accounts and images from the scene depict one carriage lying on its side, where approximately 95 passengers were present, including students from a nearby school.

As a safety precaution, Denmark's rail operator DSB announced the suspension of all train services between Tinglev and Sønderborg, near the German border. Two of the injured were transported by helicopter for urgent medical attention.
