**US Proposes New Nuclear Deal to Iran Amid Rising Tensions**

Amid escalating concerns over Iran's nuclear activities, the US has confirmed sending a new deal proposal to Tehran.

The proposal follows recent findings indicating Iran's significant increase in enriched uranium production, heightening urgency for diplomatic negotiations.

The United States has officially issued a proposal for a nuclear deal with Iran, according to confirmation from the White House on Saturday. The initiative comes at a time of heightened scrutiny regarding Iran's nuclear program, particularly following a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that indicated Iran's enriched uranium production has surged, a concerning development in the context of nuclear weapons capability.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that he received "elements of a US deal" from Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, who visited Tehran. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that accepting the proposal would be in Iran’s "best interest," reiterating President Trump's commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The deal’s specifics remain undisclosed, but it reflects ongoing negotiations that have been facilitated by Oman since April. The report from the IAEA suggests that Iran now has over 400kg of uranium enriched to 60% purity, nearing the threshold of 90% needed for weapons-grade uranium. This capability positions Iran uniquely among non-nuclear nations.

The US has long aimed to curtail Iran's nuclear potential. Both nations have expressed cautious optimism during negotiations yet face significant divides on fundamental issues, notably Iran's right to continue uranium enrichment in future agreements. Though dialogues are occurring, the IAEA report revealed that Iran's enrichment activities are proceeding unabated.

US intelligence estimates indicate that Iran could generate weapons-grade material in under two weeks and potentially construct a nuclear bomb within months if it chooses to pursue that path. While Iran maintains that its nuclear program is peaceful, the IAEA has highlighted access challenges to its facilities, leaving questions about Iran's nuclear intentions unresolved.

The latest proposal is part of a broader strategy to renegotiate terms following Trump’s withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018, which aimed to curtail Iran's nuclear developments in exchange for the lifting of certain sanctions. Following the US exit, Iran has progressively expanded its uranium enrichment beyond the stipulated limits laid out in the 2015 agreement.

With rising tensions and potential military threats from Trump if negotiations falter, the international community is watching closely as the US and Iran navigate this complicated diplomatic landscape. The outcome of this proposed deal could significantly impact both regional stability and global nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
