US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is reportedly stepping down from his role in the Trump administration, according to various media reports. Last month, he accepted responsibility for an incident involving a group chat on the Signal messaging platform, where high-ranking officials, including Waltz, had discussions about military strategies in Yemen. This chat accidentally included Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, leading to public scrutiny over the handling of sensitive information.
Earlier this year, Goldberg publicly disclosed his inadvertent inclusion in the chat, revealing discussions among senior officials, including Waltz, Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, regarding a military action in Yemen.
