Vaibhav Suryavanshi: The Youngest Player to Score a Century in IPL History

At just 14 years old, Suryavanshi made headlines by hitting a century in men's T20s, breaking records and showcasing immense talent.

Emerging cricket star Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged 14, has made history as the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His remarkable innings of 101 from just 38 balls propelled the Rajasthan Royals to an emphatic victory over the Gujarat Titans.

Rajasthan Royals' prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at the tender age of 14, has etched his name into the annals of cricket history by becoming the youngest player to achieve a century in men's T20 cricket. In a recent match against the Gujarat Titans, Suryavanshi showcased his extraordinary talent and determination, scoring a remarkable 101 runs off just 38 balls.

His phenomenal performance contributed significantly to the Royals' successful chase of 210 runs, leading them to an eight-wicket victory. Suryavanshi's rapid century came off only 35 balls, marking it as the second-fastest in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the fastest achieved by an Indian player. The young left-handed batsman showcased an impressive display of hitting, smashing 11 sixes and seven fours during his innings.

Prior to this historic accomplishment, Suryavanshi had already made headlines by becoming the youngest player to participate in the IPL earlier this month. Just last year, he was signed for over £100,000 after catching the eye of scouts in a highly competitive auction. His journey into professional cricket began at a mere 12 years of age, making his debut in first-class cricket for Bihar.

Suryavanshi's rise to fame includes a sensational century scored during a Youth Test match for India Under-19s against Australia Under-19s at just 13 years old. His consistency and skill at a young age have made him an essential player for India in various under-19 competitions, including the Under-19 Asia Cup.

The match saw Suryavanshi partnering with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored an unbeaten 70 as they formed a formidable partnership. Their collaboration led to a total of 166 runs, enabling the Royals to clinch a crucial win after enduring five consecutive losses.

The Gujarat Titans, despite strong performances from Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler, who scored 84 and an unbeaten 50 respectively, could not fend off Suryavanshi's onslaught. This defeat has caused them to slide to third place in the IPL standings, largely affected by net run rate calculations.

As Suryavanshi continues to break barriers in the world of cricket, eyes are on him to see how his career will unfold, both in the IPL and on the international stage.
