In brief

In a new phase of hostilities, Russian air attacks have claimed three lives and injured more than a dozen people across several Ukrainian cities. A missile strike damaged a market in Kyiv, prompting a firefight, while Kyiv reported downing three missiles and almost a hundred drones. Ukrainian officials reported counter‑attacks on Russian logistics hubs, and air‑raid sirens sounded multiple times in the capital and in cities such as Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk. Russia also struck a Wildberries warehouse near Moscow, illustrating the expanding geographic scope of the conflict.

At least three people have been killed and more than 10 injured in Ukraine during the latest wave of Russian strikes, officials said.

Firefighters are battling a blaze that started overnight at a market in Kyiv after it was hit by Russian missiles and drones. Ukraine confirmed that it shot down three missiles and captured nearly 100 drones.

In Moscow, the mayor reported that about 600 Ukrainian drones were launched towards the city overnight, striking a warehouse belonging to the Russian online retailer Wildberries.

Russian aerial attacks have intensified across Ukraine in recent weeks, while Kyiv has increased its targeting of Russian logistics hubs, aiming to disrupt military supplies.

Air‑raid sirens sounded four times since Saturday night in Kyiv, and Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that at least six people, including a child, were injured.

In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, regional head Ivan Fedorov said a Russian guided aerial bomb destroyed a house, killing two people. Officials in Dnipropetrovsk reported one death and 14 injuries.

In Russia, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that three people were injured in a Ukrainian strike, noting that roughly a third of the drones launched at the capital had been destroyed. He also mentioned the attack on the Wildberries warehouse in Koledino, 25 km from Moscow, where video footage shows a fire and a large plume of smoke.

Wildberries, Russia’s version of Amazon, has been repeatedly targeted since July, according to Kyiv, which said it was striking logistics hubs used by Russians to procure military equipment, aiming to disrupt supplies to the Russian army.

Meanwhile, the Romanian defence ministry reported that a Spanish F‑18, deployed on NATO duties, shot down a drone that breached its airspace near the Ukrainian border and Moldova. The debris fell in an unpopulated area of the Galati region, close to the border with Ukraine and Moldova.
