Trump Calls for Inquiry After 'Sabotage' Incidents at UN General Assembly

Former President Donald Trump has demanded an investigation into what he described as 'triple sabotage' during his appearance at the UN General Assembly. The incidents involved an escalator malfunctioning as Trump and First Lady Melania Trump entered, a teleprompter failure during his speech, and issues with the audio system in the auditorium.

In a post on social media, Trump expressed his outrage over these occurrences, stating that they were not mere coincidences but rather orchestrated events aimed at undermining his presentation. A REAL DISGRACE took place at the United Nations yesterday - Not one, not two, but three very sinister events! he wrote.

The United Nations (UN) responded to Trump's claims with explanations, suggesting that the escalator incident may have been triggered by Trump's own videographer, who was reportedly filming from a backward position. Additionally, a UN official clarified that the audio system was designed for translations, allowing attendees to hear in six languages through earpieces, although Trump criticized the setup, stating that world leaders could not hear without the devices.

Trump's continued critique extended to the teleprompter, which he claimed was malfunctioning throughout his address but resumed functionality by the conclusion of his speech. Concerns were echoed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who insisted that if there was intentional interference with the escalator, immediate action should be taken against those responsible.

US Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, supported Trump's call for an official inquiry, deeming the incidents 'unacceptable' and underscoring the importance of maintaining security and dignity in international settings.

Meanwhile, Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, indicated that the responsibility for the technical failures lay with the US delegation, as the teleprompter was operated through their own laptops plugged into the UN's system.

These incidents and Trump's heavy criticism highlight significant concerns regarding operational reliability in prestigious international forums, raising questions about preparedness and oversight during such high-profile events.
