Duke and Duchess of Sussex broaden their collaboration with Netflix through a new flexible deal for productions.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed an extension of their partnership with Netflix, entering into a new multi-year "first look deal" that allows Netflix to have the first choice on projects produced by their Archewell production company. This new agreement suggests a more flexible arrangement compared to the previous contract signed in 2020, reportedly valued at around $100 million (£75 million).
Meghan expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating that it motivates them to "create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally and celebrates our shared vision." This announcement arrives just as they prepare to release the second series of their cooking show, With Love, Meghan, slated for this month.
However, viewer interest appears to be a concern, as data indicates the first series of With Love, Meghan did not crack Netflix's top 300 most popular shows in the first half of 2025, garnering only 5.3 million views. In contrast, the top show during that timeframe, Adolescence, attracted a staggering 145 million views.
Their previous documentary, Harry & Meghan, however, fared better, with 23.4 million viewers tuning in for its December 2022 launch. Archewell plans to follow up With Love, Meghan with a special Christmas edition, inviting audiences to celebrate with Meghan in Montecito over the holidays.
In addition to the cooking show, a project titled Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, is set to debut later this year, showcasing an orphanage in Uganda amidst the lingering impacts of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Bella Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, praised Harry and Meghan as influential storytellers whose narratives resonate with diverse audiences, remarking on the immediate success of their initial work together.
This partnership demonstrates their ongoing commitment to creative storytelling, even as they navigate public perception and viewer dynamics in the competitive entertainment landscape.
