New Allegations Emerge Against Convicted Rapist Zou Zhenhao
Following his conviction for multiple rapes, 23 additional women have come forward with claims against Zou Zhenhao, raising concerns about the extent of his crimes.
More than 20 women have stepped forward with serious allegations against Zou Zhenhao, a Chinese student convicted last month of drugging and raping ten women in both Britain and China. The Metropolitan Police in London reported on Wednesday that 23 women made contact with them after Mr. Zou's conviction, with claims coming from individuals located in the UK, China, and other regions. Authorities indicate they believe that Zou may have assaulted over 50 women, supported by the discovery of hundreds of incriminating videos on his devices.
Zou, who was pursuing a Ph.D. at University College London from 2019 to 2024, was found guilty on March 5 of 11 counts of rape, in addition to drug possession, voyeurism, and possession of extreme pornography. The trial revealed a disturbing pattern where he would lure women to his apartments, both in London and in China, where he committed his crimes. Polic investigators noted that Mr. Zou typically targeted Chinese students, whom he met through dating apps like Bumble and social media platforms such as WeChat and Little Red Book, often at parties or university events.
Despite the testimonies of two women presented at his trial, the police asserted that many of the attackers' victims might have been drugged, potentially leaving them unaware of the assaults. Following Zou's conviction, there has been a public appeal for additional victims to come forward, aiming to achieve justice and validate the experiences of those affected by his crimes.
