The bombing targeted individuals waiting for nutritional supplements, with graphic footage emerging that shows the aftermath, including children’s bodies and injured individuals receiving medical aid.
The Israeli military stated that it was verifying the details of the incident. This attack occurred as conflict escalated in the region, with another 26 people reported killed in separate strikes across Gaza on the same day. Negotiations for a potential ceasefire and hostage release continue in Doha between Israeli and Hamas representatives, with the involvement of US mediators—although tangible progress has yet to be achieved.
A senior Israeli official, during a visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the US, indicated that reaching an agreement might take one to two weeks. They mentioned that if a ceasefire of up to 60 days was secured, Israel would use that time to propose a lasting peace settlement contingent on Hamas disarming. Conversely, should Hamas decline disarmament, Israel would pursue further military action.
