Nigerian Member of Parliament Alex Ikwechegh has issued a formal apology after a video went viral showing him slapping and verbally abusing a taxi driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, during a dispute over a food delivery. The incident occurred in Abuja when Abuwatseya was delivering snails to Ikwechegh’s residence. Tensions escalated when the driver requested that the MP come outside to collect the delivery, prompting Ikwechegh to accuse him of disrespect.
The recorded exchange reveals Ikwechegh's hostile response, including aggressive threats and derogatory language.
