A tourist coach overturned between Susch and Zernez in the Graubünden region of the Swiss Alps, leaving multiple fatalities and injuries, according to local police. The accident took place late on Thursday afternoon as the bus was traveling from the Netherlands via Austria to Switzerland.

Emergency services deployed a large team of rescuers, equipped with helicopters, to the scene. The coach, which carried 48 Dutch passengers on a day‑trip tour, was lying on its side beside a narrow country road. Ambulances and responders were visible in images posted by Swiss news outlets.

The spokesperson for the General Dutch Association of Travel Companies, representing tour operator OAD, said the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf could not yet confirm how many people had been killed or injured. The coach had departed from the Netherlands on Monday and was en route to the Swiss National Park, an Alpine reserve spanning more than 100 square kilometres in the Engadine valley.

Authorities are continuing rescue and investigation operations as the national park’s entrance town of Zernez serves as a common gateway for visitors to the area.
