Cristiano Ronaldo tied the knot with Georgina Rodríguez in Cascais

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodríguez, in a civil ceremony in Portugal.

The Portuguese striker posted an image on his Instagram account showing two hands—presumed to be his on top of his wife's—both wearing wedding rings. This post, described by Portuguese media as the wedding of the year, shows the couple tying the knot on 11 August in the coastal town of Cascais near Lisbon, with their five children in attendance. Within the first thirty minutes of posting, the Instagram entry received more than three million likes.

The couple have been together for ten years; their romance began when Rodríguez worked at a Gucci shop in Madrid while Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid. They announced their engagement on 11 August last year, when Rodríguez posted a picture of a large ring and the words "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives" in Spanish.

Ronaldo’s career has spanned Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and the Portugal national team, and he has scored nearly 1,000 goals. He recently played in his sixth World Cup, a record he shares with Lionel Messi.
