Twenty‑seven people have been killed in an overnight drone strike on the Kyiv region, its governor said.
Tymur Tkachenko added that 42 people, including four children, were injured in a Russian attack on the Bucha district and that 381 people were evacuated.
Search and rescue operations were underway early Saturday as emergency services inspected buildings for damage.
Later the governor announced a separate strike that killed a 14‑year‑old in the Boryspil district, describing it as another victim of Russian terror.
President Volodymyr Zelensky offered condolences to families of the victims, noting that more than 300 emergency respondents had been deployed to the strike area.
He also reported that further overnight strikes targeted Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia. He urged international help and sanctions to protect against such attacks.
The Ukrainian army confirmed it shot down 233 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles overnight.
Russia and Ukraine have intensified attacks in recent months, with Kyiv focusing on Russian economic targets, while Russia reports strikes on Belgorod and Rostov. The Rostov governor said seven people were injured in a recent attack.
