Lil Nas X has said he's OK after a terrifying last four days following his arrest in Los Angeles. The Grammy winner, known for his country-rap hit Old Town Road, was arrested on Thursday after police officers alleged he assaulted them upon being found walking the streets naked. He was taken to hospital for treatment for a possible overdose.

On Monday, the 26-year-old rapper pleaded not guilty to injuring a police officer and resisting arrest, later being released after posting $75,000 bail. Posting on Instagram on Tuesday, he assured fans: Your girl is gonna be OK, y'all. He remarked on the severity of the past week, describing it as terrifying.

The performer faces three felony counts of battery with injury to a police officer and one felony count of resisting arrest. If convicted, he could potentially face up to five years in prison, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney. Police reported that he charged at them when responding to calls about a nude individual on a busy road. Despite claims from the police regarding possible drug use, his attorney maintains that no evidence exists to support these allegations.

His father, Robert Stafford, expressed support outside court, stating that his son is very remorseful for what happened and is ready to seek the help needed. Lil Nas X gained significant attention in 2018 with his debut single, which became the longest-running number one in US chart history. He continues to challenge norms within the hip-hop community, particularly regarding representation and LGBT issues.
