In a grand reception at Aso Rock, President Tinubu celebrated the Super Falcons' stunning 3-2 win over Morocco, marking their 10th Wafcon title. The president praised the team's attributes of "courage, determination, and consistency," expressing pride in their achievement. Each player in the squad was welcomed with traditional performances and received national honors during the celebration.

Despite the jubilation, concerns linger regarding the government's historical failure to deliver promised bonuses and incentives to both men's and women's football teams. Past instances of protests over payment delays highlight ongoing issues within Nigerian sports. Nonetheless, Tinubu assured that future payments would be made promptly, signaling a commitment to enhance support systems for athletes.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade emphasized that their victory was for "every young girl in our villages, towns and cities who dares to dream," and she reiterated the necessity of robust backing from the government and the football federation to achieve international success. The Super Falcons’ legacy remains significant, having won 10 out of 13 Wafcon editions since 1998.
