President Donald Trump and other prominent American political figures are flocking to Arizona to speak at a memorial for Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist killed two weeks ago. Scheduled for Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, the event is expected to draw over 100,000 attendees.

In light of the recent tragedy, heightened security is anticipated, including TSA-level screening as noted by Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the organizer. Kirk was shot at a speaking event held at a university in Utah on September 10, reigniting fears regarding political violence in the United States.

As a polarizing figure, opinions about Kirk's impact and the motives behind the shooting have only intensified divisions within the country. Alongside Trump, speakers will include Kirk's widow, Erika, the new CEO of TPUSA; Vice President JD Vance; Donald Trump Jr.; right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson; and Stephen Miller, a White House adviser.

Typically, public shootings provoke calls for unity and calm from political leaders; however, the Trump administration's focus on attributing blame to the radical left has led to accusations of government overreach and concerns about civil liberties.

Doors will open at 08:00 local time, with the official program set to begin at 11:00. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Sunday best in red, white, or blue, and entry will be on a first come, first served basis.

A nearby stadium with a capacity of 20,000 has been designated as an overflow area. The event will also be live-streamed on Kirk's Rumble account. Security measures at the venue equate to those of high-profile events like the Super Bowl.

Reports indicate that just days before the memorial, a man was apprehended at the stadium after exhibiting suspicious behavior, armed and claiming to be law enforcement. While he later revealed his connection to a known guest, TPUSA emphasized that proper coordination with security teams was not achieved.

The heightened tensions accompanying Kirk's memorial reflect ongoing concerns regarding political violence. As investigators pursue the motives behind the shooting—alleged to be linked to a 22-year-old with a leftist ideology—the national conversation continues to grapple with deeply ingrained divisions and the implications of Kirk's legacy.
