Best-selling author Colleen Hoover has revealed she has been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.
The US writer, known for hits like It Ends With Us and Reminders of Him, announced that she has nearly completed her radiotherapy and that earlier surgery was a success.
In a recent Instagram post, she shared a selfie in a hospital gown and expressed her gratitude to fans for their support during this trying time. 'I'm doing much better. My cancer diagnosis was a while ago, but I chose to keep it private until finding out my surgery was successful and what my other treatments would be,' she stated.
Hoover initially discussed her diagnosis in a private Facebook chat with her fan group about a month ago, assuring them that the cancer had been removed and affirming her well-being.
'Huge and scary'
Hoover elaborated on her health struggles, revealing persistent issues dating back to 2025. Despite her concerns, she prioritized her work, notably the film adaptation of Reminders of Him, before seeking medical help. Upon return from shooting in Canada, she received the cancer diagnosis, which she described as 'huge and scary'.
She expressed regret for missing significant personal and career events during this time, stating that she felt unprepared to share her situation publicly until she was certain of the outcome.
While she has not specified the type of cancer, Hoover hinted that it might be linked to lifestyle choices, joking about her aversion to healthy eating and exercise.
On Instagram, she thanked her healthcare providers and reiterated that her recent updates were not a marketing strategy for her book's launch, declaring, 'I'm a badass!' and emphasizing her dedication to recovery.
Her latest novel, Woman Down, marks her first release since 2022, and she continues to inspire her readers while navigating her health journey.
