US lawmakers have released more than 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including some that mention President Donald Trump.

Early on Wednesday, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee published three email exchanges, including correspondence between Epstein and his long-time associate Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking. The emails include discussions between Epstein and author Michael Wolff, known for his writings on Trump.

In response, House Republicans released a large volume of documents contending that the Democrats were attempting to cherry-pick information to create a fabricated narrative against Trump. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt accused Democrats of selectively leaking information to smear the president.

Trump has consistently denied wrongdoing related to Epstein, claiming their friendship ended in the early 2000s, prior to Epstein’s first arrest in 2005. He emphasized that he had expelled Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club years ago over inappropriate conduct.

Among the released emails, one dated 2011 shows Epstein discussing Trump with Maxwell, suggesting that Trump's lack of mention in investigations indicates innocence. The White House asserted that Epstein could not have been involved in any wrongdoing with Trump, citing statements from known accusers.

Another set of emails between Wolff and Epstein during the 2015 presidential campaign reveals discussions on how to handle a potential media inquiry regarding their relationship, with Wolff advising Epstein on how to leverage the situation regarding Trump's reputation.

The discourse has divided opinions, with Democrats calling for full transparency regarding Epstein's associates and victims pushing for the release of unredacted information regarding their experiences. Survivors have expressed the need for complete disclosures regarding Epstein's abuses, claiming partial information leaves many questions unanswered.
