At least 30 people have been injured following a Russian drone strike on a railway station in north-east Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
In a post on X, he indicated that preliminary reports suggested train staff and passengers were present at the time of the strike in the city of Shostka, located in the Sumy region.
Emergency services are currently on the scene attending to the injured, and further information regarding those affected is expected to be released shortly.
Zelensky shared a video depicting a damaged train carriage engulfed in flames after the attack.
The Russians could not have been unaware that they were targeting civilians. This is terrorism, which the world has no right to ignore, he stated on X. He further emphasized, Every day Russia takes people's lives. And only strength can make them stop.
The Ukrainian leader also urged for decisive action from Western nations, saying, We've heard resolute statements from Europe and America – and it's high time to turn them all into reality.
