US television presenter Savannah Guthrie and her family have appealed to the public to continue searching for their missing mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home on February 1.
In a recent statement, the Guthrie family expressed, We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom's case, highlighting their ongoing distress and the emotional toll of the search. Nearly two months following her disappearance, authorities have not identified a suspect, despite having released footage of a masked figure near Nancy's home at the time of her abduction.
The family has made direct appeals via social media, offering a $1 million reward for information that could lead to her return, in addition to the $100,000 offered by the FBI. We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case. Someone knows something, the family stated, urging the public to reflect on any relevant details they may have.
The emotional appeal culminated in the assertion of their struggle: We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home.” The incident has sparked widespread concern in the community, with local authorities continuing the investigation, although they are yet to confirm any leads.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has indicated that Nancy was potentially targeted, but clarity on the motive remains elusive. Police are continuing to seek additional surveillance footage from the area surrounding her home to aid in the ongoing investigation.
