US lawmakers have released more than 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of the disgraced financier and convicted late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The documents mention Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the former prince and brother of King Charles; US President Donald Trump; Trump's former advisor Steve Bannon; and a cast of other characters from the world of media, politics, and entertainment, which highlights the extent of Epstein's contact book.

Trump was a friend of Epstein's for years, but the president has said they fell out around 2004, years before Epstein's initial arrest. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing associated with Epstein.

Several notable individuals mentioned in the documents include:

Michael Wolff

Michael Wolff, an American journalist and author, had correspondence with Epstein regarding Trump during the 2016 election campaign. Wolff alerted Epstein about CNN's plans to question Trump about his relationship with Epstein, and the two discussed strategies for Trump's responses.

Larry Summers

The documents reveal correspondence between Epstein and Larry Summers, former Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton, indicating frequent meetings and discussions about connecting with global figures.

Kathryn Ruemmler

Kathryn Ruemmler, former White House counsel under President Obama, is mentioned in communications related to hush-money payments made by Trump to adult film star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election.

Peter Thiel

Billionaire investor Peter Thiel appeared in the documents as Epstein invited him to his Caribbean island in 2018, though Thiel later asserted he had never visited the location.

Noam Chomsky

The famed linguist Noam Chomsky engaged Epstein in discussions that occasionally referenced Trump, highlighting their academic-oriented dialogue.

Peggy Siegal

Publicist Peggy Siegal was consulted by Epstein amidst his scandals; she described his request to connect with Ariana Huffington as ridiculous but did not follow through with it.

The extent of Epstein's connections raises questions regarding the implications and ethical considerations of those involved, although many continuously state their disassociation from Epstein's actions.
