The investigation into the death of French streamer Raphaël Graven, recognized online as Jean Pormanove, has intensified following an autopsy report that ruled out trauma as a cause. Graven was discovered deceased at his residence in Contes, a village near Nice, prompting a judicial inquiry led by prosecutor Damien Martinelli. The prosecutor stated on Thursday that medical examiners concluded there was no indication of trauma, and the death was not linked to third-party involvement, highlighting only minor bruises and healed lesions.
Government minister Clara Chappaz labeled the situation as an "absolute horror," emphasizing the need to clarify the circumstances surrounding Graven's tragic passing. The autopsy suggested potential medical and toxicological explanations, with further tests indicating that Graven may have struggled with heart issues and previously managed a thyroid problem.
Kick, the streaming platform where Graven was active, affirmed its commitment to reviewing the circumstances leading to his death. Reports from local media revealed that the 46-year-old endured instances of violence and sleep deprivation during his streaming sessions, with his death reportedly occurring while he was live streaming.
In light of the suspicious circumstances, law enforcement has interviewed several witnesses present at the time and seized equipment and video recordings related to the incident. The ongoing investigation aims to determine whether these factors contributed to Graven's untimely death.
