US Consumers Warned After Energy Drink Cans Filled with Vodka

The USFDA issues a recall notice for Celsius energy drink cans mistakenly filled with vodka, affecting several states and prompting consumer caution.

The US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) has alerted consumers about a packaging error leading to Celsius energy drink cans being filled with vodka. Although no adverse effects have been reported, the recall spans multiple states, urging consumers to dispose of affected products.

US authorities have issued a serious alert for consumers of Celsius energy drinks after an alarming mix-up resulted in some cans being inadvertently filled with vodka. The United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) specifically highlighted the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition of the drink as part of this warning.

The error occurred due to a mishap on the part of a packaging supplier that sent empty Celsius cans to High Noon, a company known for producing vodka seltzers. These cans were filled with alcohol, prompting High Noon to announce a recall of certain Beach Variety packs that were manufactured on the same production line as the problematic Celsius cans.

To date, no health issues or adverse reactions have been reported related to the affected Celsius energy drinks. The USFDA has published details on two production lots that must be identified, with shipments reaching retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin between July 21 and July 23.

Consumers are urged to examine the retail codes and lot codes printed on the bottom of the cans. The recalled Celsius drinks are labeled with retail code UPC 8 89392 00134 1 and corresponding lot codes: L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to L CCB 02JL25 3:11. High Noon products that bear different lot codes remain unaffected and are safe for consumption, according to the USFDA's statement.

As a precautionary measure, consumers are advised to dispose of any impacted Celsius cans without consuming their contents. The shocking incident serves as a reminder for consumers to be vigilant about product recalls and the integrity of food and beverage safety.
