GLEN BURNIE, Md. — On Wednesday morning, a shooting incident involving federal immigration agents took place during an enforcement and removal operation in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Local officials from the Anne Arundel County Police Department reported that two individuals were injured during the confrontation with the agents, but fortunately, neither sustained life-threatening injuries. Both were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to a spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Police, officers responded to the scene following reports of a shooting involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Initial reports indicated that ICE agents attempted to engage a white van, which allegedly attempted to evade them by accelerating towards the agents. In response, the agents fired at the vehicle, which ultimately came to a halt in a wooded area nearby.

Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the two individuals injured in the shooting. As part of the investigative process, local police are looking into the shooting incident, while the FBI has been assigned to investigate the alleged assault on the agents. Additionally, ICE is conducting its internal inquiry following the event.
