Following the attacks, emergency power outages were implemented as a precautionary measure, with Halushchenko urging residents to seek shelter.
On Thursday, the Ukrainian air force issued a national air raid alert, citing an elevated risk of missile strikes. The air force noted that in the days leading up to these attacks, approximately 1,500 air strikes had been executed across Ukraine, affecting around half of the nation's regions. Detailed warnings were issued about incoming rockets targeting numerous areas, including major cities like Kyiv, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Kropyvnytskyi, Balta, and Mykolaiv.
In Kharkiv, the mayor Igor Terekhov reported shelling incidents in civilian neighborhoods, while Lutsk's mayor, Ihor Polishchuk, confirmed multiple explosions and electricity outages in parts of the city. Reports of explosions were also recorded in Odesa, a vital port city, with regional governor Oleg Kiper advising residents to seek safety. Additional attacks were reported in the Sumy and Volyn regions, compounding the hardships faced by the Ukrainian populace as the conflict escalates.
