At least seven people were killed in Russian strikes across Ukraine overnight, including five in the central city of Dnipro, where officials said an apartment building was hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the latest attack lasted practically all night, while rescue workers were still searching for survivors under rubble in Dnipro on Saturday morning.

British jets were scrambled from Romania during the heavy attack when Russian drones were detected near the border, though the UK Ministry of Defence rejected a report it had shot some down. Meanwhile, Ukraine carried out some of its longest-distance drone strikes deep inside Russian territory.

In Yekaterinburg, almost 1,000 miles from Ukraine's border, the governor reported six injuries when a building was struck, while in Chelyabinsk, local leaders said drones targeting an industrial facility were shot down. Russian missiles and drones also targeted the northern city of Chernihiv, where officials reported two fatalities, as well as Odesa and Kharkiv. Ukrainian authorities indicated they repelled the majority of over 600 attacking drones, marking one of the most extensive attacks in recent days.

The Russians' tactics have not changed: strike drones, cruise missiles, and a significant amount of ballistics, Zelensky posted on social media, highlighting that many of the targets are civilian infrastructure including residences and energy facilities.

Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed it had shot down 127 drones over multiple regions and reported that control had been established in Bochkove, a village in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian authorities have not confirmed this claim.

Amidst this aggression, Romania's defense ministry announced an investigation into an object that fell on its territory close to the Ukrainian border during the assault. Furthermore, Zelensky is seeking international support for military efforts while engaging in discussions with Saudi leaders about bolstering air defense cooperation.

The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen as more regular citizens become victims of the prolonged conflict. The international community watches closely as both sides prepare for further engagements.
